Cleaning tips

If the measurement surface of the sensor is covered with a coating, incorrect
readings may occur, such as a shortened span or a slower response time.
Clean according to the type of coating.
・ Soft coatings can be removed by vigorous agitation, flushing with a spray
bottle, or carefully wiping with soft, clean, non-abrasive paper or cloth.
Do not use a brush or abrasive cleaner to clean the measurement surface
of the sensor.
・ Remove hard coatings with chemicals. Use the least irritating chemical
that can dissolve the coating in 1 to 2 minutes and does not affect the
sensor material.
For example, a calcium carbonate coating can be removed with 5%
hydrochloric acid.
・ Remove oily or organic coatings with a detergent or appropriate solvent
that does not affect the sensor material.
For example, isopropyl alcohol may be used, but do not use acetone for
the electrode.
・ Remove protein-based coatings with an enzyme-based cleaner.
・ When using chemicals or solvents, wear appropriate protective
equipment to protect the eyes, face, hands, body, and respiratory
Caution
system.
・ Never polish the measurement surface of the sensor.
