5. Do the following to remove the filter housing:
a. Slide the filter wrench onto the filter housing with the
handle pointing to the right.
b. Pull handle toward you to loosen the housing; then
unscrew the housing by hand. Figure 7.11
Hold a container below the housing to catch any spills.
6. Clean the filter housing using soap and water and then
rinse thoroughly.
7. Inspect the O-ring for twists, wear, or damage. If necessary,
replace the O-ring. Figure 7.12
8. Apply an NSF-approved silicone lubricant to the
housing O-ring to aid assembly and sealing.
9. Insert the new filter into the housing.
10. Re-attach the filter housing. FIgure 7.13
Hand tighten only. Do not use the filter wrench to tighten
the housing.
11. Open the main (external) water supply valve.
Check the filter housing carefully for leaks after opening the
water supply valve.
12. Purge air from the on-board .2 micron water filter housing
(for instructions, see Periodic Maintenance).
13. Record the date of change in the log.
