RE: SCOPE BUDDY
This bulletin provides alternative instructions for decontamination using chlorine tablets in markets where
these products are available.
The Daily Decontamination Procedure must be performed at the start of the day before use on any
endoscopes. (Refer to User Manual for more detailed instructions)
To ensure correct SCOPE BUDDY Endoscope Flushing Aid operation, the Quality Assurance Flow Validation
Test must be performed prior to the first use of the day.

Prior to First Use of the Day
Perform Daily Decontamination Procedure by:
1. Locate Fluid Intake Line and place filter screen in decontamination solution in jug (Milton/Peracetic
Acid/Chlorine Tablets) Use concentration as per manufacturers guidelines.
2. Locate open end of outflow tubing and place in the decontamination solution which has been made up
in an empty jug/container (Milton/Peracetic Acid/Chlorine Tablets).
3. Using the front panel arrow keys, set the timer for 30 seconds.
4. Press "Start/Stop" button to begin fluid flow.
5. Prime the tubing until a steady column of decontamination solution exits the outflow tubing.
6. Press "Start/Stop" button to halt fluid flow.
7. Allow decontamination chemical to remain within Scope Buddy and tubing as per chemical manufacturer's
labelling for the appropriate contact time required to achieve decontamination.
8. Remove outflow tubing from jug and press start to remove decontamination solution from tubing by
purging lines with air.
9. Fill jug/container with clean rinse water and place intake line in jug.
