Security access is controlled by assigning a role to each user. The table below is the list of roles
and their authorized access. The Administrators role and Engineers role have the same security
access to the HMI, the difference is an Administrators role can have administrator access to the
Windows operating system, where Engineers role is limited to the HMI only.
The management of the roles is done outside of the Vertex M HMI and is part of the Rockwell
software suite. Open the FactoryTalk Administration Console to manage roles. Please refer to
the Rockwell's FactoryTalk Security System Configuration Guide for usage details.

5.6.7 Configuration

Before the Vertex M system can begin monitoring, a configuration profile must be created. Use
the Configuration menu to create a new configuration profile or modify an existing profile.
See "Configuration Utility" on page 51 for the procedures on using the Configuration window.
