Lifting Front
1.
Chock the rear wheels to keep the
vehicle from rolling backward.
2.
Put a jack under the center of the
front axle.
3.
Raise the vehicle with the jack.
4.
Install jack stands under the front
frame cross member as shown.
5.
Lower the vehicle until it rests on
the jack stands.
6.
Remove the jack.
7.
Confirm that the vehicle is stable
on the jack stands before proceed-
ing with any service.
The vehicle must be on a firm and level surface.
Be constantly aware that the vehicle is not stable
during the lifting process.
Place jack and jack stands only in areas indicated.
Make sure the vehicle is stable on jack stands before
getting underneath.
Never get under a vehicle while it is on a jack only.
Put wheel chocks in front of and behind the wheels
that are not being lifted.
Do not allow anyone on the vehicle when it's being
lifted or on jack stands.
Lift and support the drive wheels on jack stands
before performing any service to the powertrain while
the motor is in operation.
