BATTERY DISPOSAL

NOTICE
Always recycle Lithium-ion batteries:
• Contact the distributor or manufacturer for information on return-
ing or recycling used or damaged battery packs.
• Contact local or state environmental department for disposal
information.

BATTERY CHARGER MAINTENANCE

The battery charger is designed to completely charge battery packs. The auto-
matic charger determines the correct length of charge for the battery set and
turns off when the batteries are charged. Always refer to the instructions sup-
plied with the charger. See APPENDIX for complete charger information.

BATTERY PROLONGED STORAGE

54
If the battery pack terminals are contaminated or dirty,
clean with a dry cloth before using.
Keep the battery pack and control module away from
static electricity.
When Li-ion batteries are put into a municipal/household
recycling bin, they are taken to a municipal recovery facil-
ity (MRF) that is typically equipped to recycle only house-
hold paper, plastic, metal and glass. At an MRF, Li-ion
batteries may be damaged or crushed during processing
and can become a fire hazard.
The chasing arrow symbol on Li-ion batteries means they
are recyclable at specialized battery recyclers; it does
NOT mean Li-ion batteries can be put in the municipal/
household recycling bin.
Do not dispose of Li-ion batteries in household or
shop garbage/recycling bins. They can cause fires
during transport or at landfills and recyclers.
Before recycling or shipping battery pack, make sure
that the battery pack terminals are insulated.
Improper storage may damage, destroy or cause per-
manent loss of battery capacity. Do not exceed stor-
age time or temperature limits. Batteries must be
charged to the correct level before storage. Storing
fully depleted batteries will make them permanently
unusable.
