UPHILL OPERATION

When driving up a hill, follow these guidelines:
• Avoid excessively steep hills.
• Drive straight up the hill.
• Drive at a steady rate of acceleration and speed.
• Do not drive over the crest of a hill at high speed since there is little or no
visibility to what's on the other side of the hill.

DOWNHILL OPERATION

When driving down a hill, follow these guidelines:
• Apply light and constant pressure to the brakes to maintain speed and con-
trol of the vehicle.
• Avoid excessively steep hills.
• Drive straight down the hill.
• Never drive down hills with excessively slippery or loose surfaces.

REVERSE OPERATION

When driving in reverse, follow these guidelines:
• Check that the area behind the vehicle is clear.
• Check that left and right fields of vision are clear.
• Do not back down a steep hill.
• Drive slowly.
• Press the brakes lightly for stopping.
• Accelerate slow and steady.
• Avoid turning at sharp angles.

PARKING THE VEHICLE

NOTICE
1.
Press the brake to stop the vehicle.
If towing a trailer, the weight of the load will increase
the braking distance required to slow or stop the
vehicle. Not allowing for increased braking distance
under load can cause an accident or injury.
To avoid unintentional movement of the vehicle that
could result in severe injury, vehicle damage or dam-
age to surrounding objects, park the vehicle on a flat
surface. If parking on an incline is unavoidable,
chock the wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling.
When parking the vehicle in cold climates (0°C, 32°F), the
car should be stored in an enclosed garage.
