5001-1 Stand Alone Audio System

The model 5001-1 Audio System is a discontinued product that is shown here for service purposes. The
replacement is a 5501-1 which is a kit consisting of a 5501-2 Console, a 5003 Matrix and a power
supply. Both systems provide full-duplex communication for a single console with one or two customer
stations in remote drive-up or walk-up situations where integrated video is not required.

Lane Terminals
Mount the terminal board to a convenient surface that is well
protected from mechanical damage and near the desired console
location. Connect the remote stations to the 7-position terminal
blocks as shown in Figure 36. Plug the console into the RJ-type
jack and the DC power pack into the DC power jack. Connect the
GND terminal to a building ground. Do not ground the remote unit
end of the microphone shields.
Test the system using the factory default settings without making
any changes. The factory default positions and how to read the pot
positions are shown in Figure 37.
Teller Call Volume
Adjust Call Tone Volume for sufficient volume of the teller call
tone when the call button on a remote station is pressed.
Lane 1 Speaker Volume
With an assistant in a vehicle parked at the lane, speak in a normal
tone of voice about 2 inches from the console microphone and
check that the audio level is OK at the lane. Adjust the lane SPK
pot for sufficient volume in the vehicle if necessary. Make small
adjustments at a time and retest. Do not adjust the lane SPK pot
above 9:00 – it won't usually make the volume louder at the lane
beyond this point.
Lane 2 Mic Volume
Set the MIC pot 1 hour above the lane SPK pot. Have an assistant in the vehicle speak in a normal tone
of voice toward the remote unit and check that the audio level is OK at the console. Adjust the volume
on the console as needed. Only adjust the lane MIC pot if necessary and then only by small amounts.
