4. Place the new heat sink and fan assembly on the system board so that screws on the new heat sink and
fan assembly are inserted into the corresponding holes on the system board. Note the orientation of the
new heat sink and fan assembly and ensure that you properly place it so that you can easily connect the
heat sink and fan assembly cable to the CPU fan connector on the system board.
5. Install the four screws to secure the new heat sink and fan assembly on the system board. It is
recommended that you carefully install the four screws using the following method to avoid any possible
damage to the system board.
a. Partially tighten screw
Do not over-tighten the screws.
b. Partially tighten screw
Do not over-tighten the screws.

6. Connect the heat sink and fan assembly cable to the CPU fan connector on the system board. See
"System board components" on page 28.
Note: If the heat sink and fan assembly cable is long, loosely wrap it.

Secure digital module

The SD module provides an easy way for data storage. You can install two SD cards into the SD module.

• "Installing the SD module" on page 94
Note: If you remove the SD module, you cannot install SD cards into your server for storage.
Removing the SD module
To remove the SD module, do the following:
1. Prepare your server and remove the server cover. See "Preparing your server in advance and removing
the server cover" on page 49.
