should become
soiled,
gently wipe
it with
a
soft
cloth from
the
center
of
the
disc
to the
ed
ge.
Do
not
use
record sprays,
antistatic
agents,
or
household spray
cleaners.
Volatile
chem icals
such as benzine and
thinner can also
damage the surface
of
the d isc
and
must
not be
used
.
Anything
that
can
damage, warp, or
fog
plastic
should
never be used to
clean
your
d
iscs.
Compact
discs,
like trad
itional
aud
io
records, are made
of
plastic. To avoid
warping,
keep the
discs in
their
cases and
do
not store
them
where they
will
be
ex-
posed
to direct
sunlight.
Condensation Phenomenon
Immediately
after
turning
on
the
heater of
a
vehicle in a cold
climate, the
d
isc
or optical
components (prism
and lens) may
becom
e
c
louded with
condensation. At this
tim
e,
the
disc
will eject
immediately upon being
set
into the
unit.
A
clouded d
isc can be
correct-
ed simply by wiping
with
a soft
cloth
.
Cloud-
ed
optical
components w
ill
clear
naturally
in
approximately
one
hour.
Wait
for
normal
operation to
return
before
attempting
to
use
the unit.

The use of controls
and
adjustments
or
the
performance
of
procedures
other
than those
specified
herein
may resu

hazardous
radiation
exposure.
Never
remove
the top case

f
the
unit.
If
operation
of
the
u nit
is
abnormal, con-
tact your
dealer.
To
protect the semiconducto
r
laser
from
damage, the compact d isc player
will au-
tomatically stop
play when
its
internal
temperature
rises past a specified level.
When this occurs,
J -i H
wi
ll appear
on
the
display.
Eject
the
d
isc
from th
e unit
by using the
eject
button,
and allow the
temperature to
return
to normal.
Do
not
leave
an ejected d
isc in
the
insert
slot
for
extended
periods because direct
sunlight
can
cause warpage. Return the
d
isc to its case.
