REAR GLASS HATCH/TRUNKLID
To open, insert th e key into the key slot and
turn it clockwise.
To close, use both hands to push the rear
glass hatch/trunklid down until the lock
snaps shut. Do not slam it.
Then pull up on the rear glass hatch/trunkli d
to make sure it is secure.

NOTE
When opening the rear glass hatch/trunklid
in a low-ceilinged garage, be sure to open
it with the key and to guard it with your hand .
WARNING!
To avoid drawing dangerous exhaust gases
into the veh ic le, do not drive with the rear
glass hatch/trunklid open.

To release the rear glass hatch/trunklid, pull
up the release lever located next to the
driver's seat.

TRUNK KEY SECURITY SYSTEM
(Convertible top models)
As an extra measure of security, the inside
tru nk release lever function may be can-
celled to prevent anyone inside the vehicle
from opening the trunk. To disable the inside
release lever, close the trunk and simply in-
sert the primary key in the trunk lock, then
turn the key counterclockwise (you will hear
a
cl ick) .
To enable the inside release lever to oper-
ate (in other words, to cancel the security
function), simply turn the primary key clock-
wise (you will hear a click). See page 2-3 for
other key security functions.
CAUTION
In case the inside release lever does not
open the trunk, always be sure to check the
security key system first. Remem ber that if
the key has been turned counterclockwise
in the lock (engaging the key secu rity), the
inside release lever will not work!
