BEFORE ENTERING VEHICLE
Be sure
that
all
windows,
outside rearview
mirror(s),
and outside lights are clean.
Check
tire pressures.
Be
sure the area
to the rear
is clear if you
intend to back up.
Check
under
the
vehicle
for
any sign of
leaks.
Necessary inspections
Fluid
levels, such
as engine
oil, eng ine
coolant,
brake
and clutch
fluid and
wind-
shield
washer
fluid, should be checked
daily,
weekly,
or whenever you
refuel,
depending
on
the
fl
uid. Further details are
provided
in
Owner Maintenance
Service
under
Main-
tenance.

• Adjust
the
inside and
outside rearview
mirrors.
Position the
seat so that
all
controls are
easily
reached.
Fasten seat
belts.
Check operation
of
warning lights
when
the ignition
switch
is
turned
to the ON
po-
sition.
Be
sure
that
all
li
ghts work.
Check
all
gauges.
Release the
parking brake and make
sure the
brake warning light
goes out.

safe
operation, be
sure you
are
familiar with
your veh icle and
its
equipment.

BREAK-IN PERIOD
By following a
few simple
precautions
for
the
first 600
miles
(1,000
kilometers),
you may
add to
the performance, economy and
life
of your
vehicle.
Do not race the
engine.
Drive at various speeds without straining
the
engine.
Avoid hard
stops,
except
in emergencies.
This
will
allow
the
brakes to seat properly.
Avoid full-throttle
starts.

Inspection responsibilities
The owner is responsible for
inspecting all
driving
,
braking and
backup
lights,
signal-
ing Systems and warning
indicator lights
frequently. Any
malfunction should be cor-
rected
promptly.
