Apply moderate
thumb pressure (approxi-

and
check
the
deflection.
NOTE
If the
drive
belt
becomes
worn, cracked or
frayed
,
it
should be replaced.
WARNING!
Keep hair,
loose clothing,
neckties,
neck-
laces,
etc.
away
from drive belts especially
when the eng ine
is
running.
A LWAYS RE-
MOVE
ALL
TOOLS
from
the engine
com-
partment
before
attempting
to start
the
engine. Any of
the
above
items
could
be-
come entangled
in
the
belts
and cause
se-
vere
injury
to yourself and/or
damage to you
r
vehicle.
Alternator drive belt
1. Loosen the
alternator
mounting
bolt and
adjusting
bar
bolt.
2.
Move the
alternator
to
obtain proper
belt
tension.
3.
Tighten the bolts and
recheck
the tension.
