AIR CLEANER
An
air
c leaner element fits inside
the
air
cleaner
housing on the
passenger
side of the
engine compartment. If the vehicle
is oper-
ated in
very dusty or sandy
areas, it is
recom-
mended that
the
element
be replaced
more
often than
at the usual recommended inter-
vals. When
replacement
is
necessary, you
shou ld use
only a
genuine Mazda air
clean-
er
element
or
one
of equal
quality which
meets
Mazda
specifications.
CAUTION
Do
not
remove the
air
cleaner
unless tem-
porary
removal is
necessary
during repair
or
maintenance of
the
vehic le.
Be
absolute-
ly
certain
that all
connections
to
the
air clean-
er
are
firmly in
place.

1.
The
air cleaner
element should be
fabricated
with
filter
paper
having a
pore size
of under
0.002
inch.
