external devices from User Programming Language (UPL) statements. For example, you can set up a UPL state that
says to activate external lights everyday at 5:00 pm every day. By setting up a UPL, the lights are controlled by the
GPI Output. Additionally, GPI Outputs can be used as input conditions for UPL statements, as well. For example, use
the GPI Output statement that activates the external lights as input for another UPL statement. The output action for
this UPL statement could be to activate another GPI output, which lights a console LED to provide confirmation that
the external lights are on.
GPI Outputs have default names RY01, RY02, etc. Use Other Alpha Setup to change these names to something
more meaningful for key assignments. Once a name has been assigned to the GPI Output, setup of the action that
GPI Output can be setup through GPI Output setup.

Description
The RY (relay) column displays the GPI Output number. This
number cannot be changed. However, you can control how
many GPI Outputs are available for use by changing the
Intercom configuration. For example, basic system hardware has
8 GPI outputs. If additional UIO-256 frames are attached, the
GPI outputs can be extended beyond this limit.
The Alpha column displays the name assigned to the GPI
Output. Default names are RY01, RY02, etc...
To change this name to a more familiar name, do the following:

Select a row, and then press Ctrl+F12.
