1. Before You Begin

Attaching the Platen

Attach the platen.
The two protrusions on the back of the platen should be set correctly into the holes in the platen
base.
There is a hole on the back side of the platen base that has a guide shape.
When setting the platen, it is easier to insert the pin to the back side when viewed from the front
of the machine.

Network Connection

Insert the ethernet cable into the Ethernet port.
Configure the network settings.
For details about configuring such settings, see page 47, "The setting of IP address for the
machine".
