Diagnostic alarms input and output module DIQ 8x24VDC
A diagnostics alarm is output for each diagnostics event. On the I/O device DIQ 8x24VDC, the
LED ER/MS flashes red. You can read out the diagnostics alarms in the diagnostics buffer of
the CPU, for example. You can evaluate the error codes with the user program.

5.2 Interrupts/diagnostics alarms
Corrective measures
Check the external circuitry and
correct the fault.
Replace the encoder.
Use a different encoder type or
modify the wiring. For example,
use cables with a larger cross-
section.
Establish the connection.
• Disable diagnostics
• Connect a resistor of 25 kΩ to
45 kΩ to the encoder contacts.
Correct the parameter assign-
ment.
Check the supply voltage on the
I/O device.
• Change the interrupt handling
on the CPU and reassign the
parameters to the I/O device, if
necessary.
• The error persists until the I/O
device is assigned new param-
eters.
• Correct the process wiring.
• Replace the defective encod-
er/actuator.
