Insert the socket-head slide-pin bolts through the caliper, mounting bracket and brake pads. Thread the slide-pin
bolts into the mounting bracket and tighten to 32 ft-lb (43 N·m) (Figure 6-4, Page 6-7).

Caliper Only: Secure the brake hose to the caliper with banjo bolt and new copper washers. Tighten to 146 in-lb
(16.5 N·m). See following CAUTION.
CAUTION
• The banjo bolts are metric. Use only metric thread replacements.

Fill the reservoir of the master cylinder and bleed the hydraulic system. See Bleeding the Hydraulic Brake
System on page 6-15. See following WARNING.
WARNING
• Use the top bleeding port on each caliper to bleed that respective front wheel.
• Ensure hydraulic hoses cannot contact any moving parts that will cause wear and damage.

Repeat procedure for the opposite brake if necessary.

Install the tire and wheel. Finger-tighten the lug nuts.
7.
Lower the vehicle and use a crisscross pattern to tighten the lug nuts to 85 ft-lb (115 N·m).
8.
Inspect the brake system. See Brake System Inspection on page 6-1.
9.
Burnish the new pads before initial vehicle operation. On a flat, open surface, accelerate the vehicle to moderate
speed, then apply the brakes under modest, steady pressure. Repeat this procedure eight to twelve times.
