Vacuum the filter element with a soft brush to remove loose dust. If the filter
appears heavily soiled or damaged in any way, replace it.

Inspect the secondary element (1) at this time also, but do not remove
unless damaged or heavily soiled indicating a need for replacement. If the
element appears to be in good condition, repeat step 6 to clean it in place.
8.
Reverse steps 1, 2 and 4 to reinstall new (or properly cleaned) elements and
reset the dust load indicator prior to resuming operation.
• In high dust/debris applications, check the dust load indicator more often.
• DO NOT remove filters until you know they need to be replaced (or properly
cleaned).
• DO NOT use compressed air or strike the elements against any hard object
to avoid tearing the paper element or damaging the seals.
• DO NOT clean air filter elements while the engine warranty is in effect.
During the warranty period, replace air filter elements instead of cleaning
them. Heavy-duty air filter manufacturers will not warrant the air filter once it
has been cleaned.
