Reactivation

In order to achieve excellent cleaning results, the commercial
dishwasher needs to operate with soft mains water. Hard mains water
results in the build-up of calcium deposits on items and on the wash
chamber walls.
Mains water with a water hardness of 0.7 mmol/l (4 °dH) must
therefore be softened. This occurs automatically in the integrated
water softener.
The water softener must be set to the exact hardness of the mains
water.
Your local water authority can give you information about the exact
water hardness in your area.
It is useful to know your water hardness so that you can provide the
service technician with this information in the event of any
subsequent service calls. For this reason, please record the
hardness level of your mains water here:
______________ mmol/l or °dH
The water softener must also be reactivated at regular intervals.
Special dishwasher salt is required for this.
 Damage to the water softener from detergent.
Detergent will damage the water softener.
Do not fill the container for dishwasher salt with powder or liquid
detergent.
 Damage caused by using unsuitable salts.
Some types of salt may contain insoluble components which can
cause the water softener to malfunction.
Only use special coarse-grained dishwasher salt or other pure
kitchen salt for reactivation.
Suitable products are available from Miele Professional.
If the hardness of your water is constantly less than 0.7 mmol/l (=
4 °dH), no salt is required for the water softener.
However, you will still need to set the water hardness.
