Possible cause
Load too high for chiller.
The hot gas bypass valve is not work-
ing properly (possibly stuck open).
Refrigeration circuit not working
properly.
Compressor malfunctioned.
Refrigeration charge low.
Temperature sensor is faulty (for 3
and 5 Hp models only).
Solution
Reduce load on chiller; if not able to
reduce load, choose a chiller with more
capacity.
Have a certified refrigeration technician
replace the solenoid valve.

Check refrigerant circuit. See
Checking Refrigerant Charge, in the
Installation section.
Ì
Perform preventative maintenance on
chiller evaporator and condenser.
Check voltage to compressor. Check
contact points on contactor. Replace if
needed.
Ì
Check temperature on suction line; it
should be less than 60 °F. Check
refrigerant sight glass for bubbles.
Charge with refrigerant if needed.

Replace temperature sensor mounted on
the discharge side of the compressor
(trip point is 260 °F).
