l O p e r a t i o n
B e f o r e S t a r t i n g
Before you start daily operation of the chiller, you need to perform scheduled pre-
ventative maintenance. Necessary maintenance is described in the Maintenance
section of this Users Guide.
WA R N I N G : E l e c t r i c a l H a z a r d
Before performing any work on this item, disconnect and lock out electrical power
sources to prevent injury from unexpected energization or startup.
Daily maintenance includes:
Checking electrical connections
Checking process fluid level in the pump tank
Checking the condenser coil for debris (air-cooled only)
Verifying pump discharge pressure
Inspecting piping for leaks
Before starting the chiller be sure to:
Open the From Process valve (Factory Optional) to the full open position.
Open the To Process valve (Factory Optional) to the 3/4 open position. You
will need to adjust this valve when the chiller is running to obtain the desired
pump discharge pressure. To find the approximate water flow, refer to the
Pump Curves in Description section.
Open the supply valve if the chiller has the optional Auto-fill reservoir.

If you have purchased a chiller with optional process valves with bypass:

Close To Process valve.

Open bypass valve.

Start pump and close by-pass slowly until Flow Fault is displayed.

Reset alarm and open by-pass slightly then restart pump.

Adjust by-pass open slightly in the event Flow Fault reoccurs.
You are ready to use your Chiller. Proceed to the steps for your type of control:
TIC or PLC.
