Behind the Cab Access
WARNING
Be careful when entering the back-of-cab
area with dirty or wet soles. Wearing
shoes with soles that are dirty or wet
increases the chance of slipping or falling.
When trailer air and electrical connections can not be coupled from the ground, Federal
Regulations require commercial carriers to provide back-of-cab access steps, grab handles
and plates.
Depending on what option is chosen, grab handles are available in many variations. In each
case, make sure to always have three limbs (one foot and two hands or two feet and one
hand) in contact with the vehicle at all times when entering or exiting the area behind the cab.
