Make sure the operating rod is fully retracted, the safety latch is positioned above the
handle, and the latch swings freely.
If the fifth wheel is equipped with a manual secondary lock, check to see that it is properly
engaged.
Note: If you cannot get a proper coupling, repeat this procedure. DO NOT use any fifth
wheel which fails to operate properly.
