Installation in coastal areas

Please note the following with regard to installation in
coastal areas:
»
Install the outdoor unit in a location where it will not
be directly exposed to sea water or sea breezes.
»
Install the outdoor unit on the lee side of the building

Note
The protective wall must be made of a solid mate-
rial and must be at least 1.5 times as large as the
outdoor unit.
»
When constructing the wall, observe the ma-
chine-specific minimum clearances.
»
Before installation, remove any salt residues from the
installation site.
»
Implement additional anti-corrosion measures if the
installation site is less than 500 m from the sea.
Material damage
Water and salt residues on the outdoor unit can
significantly accelerate the corrosion process.
»
Ensure that the condensate drains away cor-
rectly under the outdoor unit.
»
Ensure that rain water cannot collect under
the outdoor unit.
»
Regularly clean the outdoor unit to remove
salt residues.
»
Check the condition of the outdoor unit at
regular intervals and implement appropriate
anti-corrosion measures when needed. (every
three months)
»
During extended periods of downtime, ensure
that the outdoor unit is appropriately protect-
ed.
