7 ACTIVATE THE DISPENSER

DANGER:
FIRE, EXPLOSION, INJURY OR DEATH WILL OCCUR IF FUEL VAPORS ARE PRESENT
IN THE ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE. MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO VAPORS PRESENT
BEFORE STARTING THIS PROCEDURE.
WARNING:
The 719 Control Board cover must be installed, or the dispenser will be unsafe to
operate, and the warranty will be voided.
CAUTION:
Perform this operation with the dispenser power OFF.

7.1 POWER THE DISPENSER

1. Replace the metal safety cover on the 719 Control Board if it was removed.
2. Switch the ON/OFF switch on the 719 Control Board to the ON position.
3. Close and lock all dispenser doors.
Refer to the 3000 Series Operation Manual for more information regarding dispenser start up.

7.2 PURGE AIR FROM THE HYDRAULIC LINES

After all electrical connections are complete, the dispenser fuel product lines must be purged of all
trapped air.
7.2.1 REMOTE DISPENSERS
CAUTION:
Do not use the dispenser to purge air from the product lines. Running the meter
in a dry condition and at the high speeds resulting from pressurized air, will
damage the meter and void the Bennett limited warranty.
WARNING:
Take appropriate measures to contain any product emerging from the test port.
Dispose of any spilled product in proper manner consistent with applicable laws
and codes.
Follow the steps below to purge air from the lines leading from the tank to each dispenser.
Check for leaks during the purging operation.
While purging pulser and reverse flow errors are common due to air pockets.
1. Open dispenser lower doors to gain access to the shear valve.
2. Close the shear valve at the dispenser inlet.
3. At the breaker panel, shut OFF power to all submerged pumps involved.
4. Use a UL approved sealant to connect a gasoline compatible, conductive hose, fitted with a
mechanical valve – to the shear valve test port. Start with the dispenser farthest from the tank.
