4. Unit Installation

MagnaClean CMX Midi Pro Assist (FL1-03-06632)
The MagnaClean CMX Midi Pro Assist sidestream skid unit should be installed by a competent plumber
or service engineer on a solid, level floor which is able to support the filled weight of the unit of c.44kg.
Please ensure the minimum clearance requirements detailed in Fig.3 on page 5 are followed to allow for
servicing of the unit. No special equipment or tools are required for installation.
This unit can be connected to a heating or chilled system in any location in a sidestream configuration,
via the two 28mm compression ball valves included with the unit.
IMPORTANT: As this unit is driven by an integrated pump, both the unit inlet & outlet connections must
both be connected to EITHER the main system flow OR the system return as indicated below in Fig.4.
The unit outlet connection onto the system flow or return pipe should ideally be installed UPSTREAM
of the unit inlet connection.
IMPORTANT: The inlet and outlet connections into the system flow or return should be a minimum of
386mm apart to prevent back-circulation of system water.
WARNING: The unit inlet & outlet connections must not be connected across the system flow and
system return or across a system pump, as would be the case in a standard, unpumped sidestream
installation configuration. If the unit is installed in this way, it may result in the unit not operating as
intended.
