ESD prevention
To prevent the electronic components from being damaged by the electrostatic discharge (ESD), you
should not only take ESD measures where the access controller is located, but also take the following
precautions:
Always wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap when installing access controller components, especially
the printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Take the PCBs by their edges. Do not touch any electronic component or printed circuit.
To use the ESD-preventive wrist strap, perform the following steps:
Put on the ESD-prevention wrist strap.
1.
Fasten the ESD-preventive wrist strap and verify that it makes good skin contact.
2.
Plug the grounding terminal of the ESD-preventive wrist strap supplied with the access controller
3.
into the ESD-preventive wrist strap jack on the chassis, and verify that the ESD-preventive wrist
strap is well grounded.
CAUTION:
Check the resistance of the ESD-preventive wrist strap for safety. The resistance reading should be in the
range of 1 to 10 megohm (Mohm) between human body and the ground.
Safety with laser
The switching interface board on the WX6103 has optical interfaces. Do not stare at the optical
interfaces when the board is operating.
CAUTION:
The laser inside the optical fiber may hurt your eyes.
Checking the installation site
The WX6103 is designed for indoor use. To ensure the normal operation of the access controller and
prolong its service life, make sure that the installation environment meets the requirements below.
Temperature/humidity requirements
To ensure the normal operation of the access controller, ensure that the room temperature and humidity
meet the requirements described in
