1. Drain valve (fuel tank)
3. Open the drain valve and allow the fuel to drain
from the tank.
4. Use clean fuel to flush out the tank.
5. Close the drain valve.
Inspecting the Fuel Lines
and Connections
Service Interval: Every 400 hours/Yearly (whichever
comes first)
Inspect the fuel lines for deterioration, damage, or
loose connections.
Replace any deteriorated clamps or hoses.
Note:
Prime the fuel system if you replace any fuel
lines; refer to Priming the Fuel System (page

Bleeding the Fuel System

1. Prepare the machine for maintenance; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance (page
2. Ensure that the fuel tank is at least half full.
3. Open the hood; refer to

4. Open the air-bleed screw on the fuel-injection
pump (Figure 90).

The electric fuel pump runs, forcing air out
around the air-bleed screw.
Note:
Leave the key in the O
