Driving your vehicle
If Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoid-
ance Assist does not operate normally
after it is removed, have the vehicle
inspected by a professional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner.
WARNING
僅 Even though the warning message or
warning light does not appear on the
cluster, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-
Avoidance Assist may not operate
properly.
僅 Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoid-
ance Assist may not operate properly
in an area or contaminated (for exam-
ple: open terrain), where any sub-
stance are not detected after turning
ON the engine.
CAUTION
Turn off Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-
Avoidance Assist to install a trailer, car-
rier, etc., or remove the trailer, carrier,
etc. to use Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-
Avoidance Assist.
Limitations of Rear Cross-Traffic
Collision-Avoidance Assist
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance
Assist may not operate normally, or Rear
Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
may operate unexpectedly under the
following circumstances:
僅 Departing from where trees or grass
are overgrown
僅 Departing from where roads are wet
僅 Speed of the approaching vehicle is
fast or slow
Braking control may not work, driver's
attention is required in the following cir-
cumstances:

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)
僅 The vehicle severely vibrates whilst
driving over a bumpy road, uneven
road or concrete patch
僅 Driving on a slippery surface due to
snow, water puddle, ice, etc.
僅 The tyre pressure is low or a tyre is
damaged
僅 The brake is reworked
CAUTION
For more details on the limitations of the
rear corner radar, refer to "Blind-Spot
Collision Warning (BCW) (if equipped)"
on page 6-81.

僅 Driving near a vehicle or structure

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoid-
ance Assist may be limited when driv-
ing near a vehicle or structure, and
may not detect the vehicle approach-
ing from the blind spot area. If this
occurs, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-
Avoidance Assist may not warn the
driver or control the brakes when nec-
essary.
Always check your surroundings
whilst backing up.
