You can find out the interval that your Osprey is using by selecting the Settings, About,
Configuration option (see page 30).
The Inmarsat modem in the Osprey is turned on continuously to allow faster message
delivery and receipt.
Keep in mind that Alert mode uses considerably more battery power than normal operation, reducing
the battery life.
Note: Objects pressing hard against the rubber cover may cause accidental activation of Alert mode.
Take measures to avoid accidental operation.

Activating Alert Mode

The procedure for activating Alert mode is as follows:
1.
Lift the protective cover from the Alert key (

Select OK.

Replace the protective cover securely over the Alert key.
Note: Alert mode can be activated when the Osprey is off or the keypad is locked.

Canceling Alert Mode

To cancel Alert Mode, switch off the Osprey then switch it on again. The following reminder is
displayed:

Changing the Osprey's Settings

Selecting Settings in the Home page allows you to access the following options:
Lock Keypad: Locks the keypad (see page 14).
