Replying to a Message

To reply to a message in your Inbox, view the message as described in the previous section, then
select Reply. Follow the procedure from step 2 in the next section.

Sending Messages

You can send messages using a library of pre-defined message strings. To send a message:

Select the Mailbox option on the Home page, followed by Compose:

When a message arrives in the Inbox, the New
Message icon appears in the top-left corner (as
shown opposite), and you will hear a double 3-tone
sound (low-medium-high). The icon remains until
you have viewed the message. If there is more than
one message, the icon appears as follows:
The "1/1" in the top line indicates that you are
viewing message 1 of 1. The central area shows
the date and time the message was received.
Press the Up/Down keys (
further messages in the Inbox.
A "Receipt" message indicates that a message
you sent to another Osprey was received.
Press the Up/Down keys (
the text, if required.
If the message is from a ViewPoint operator, the
message may include free text that the operator
has typed.
Note: If there is no message content, the sender
may be using a different codebook (see page 33).
If you see "Codebook Updated. Message Invalid",
the ViewPoint operator has updated the
codebook in your Osprey, which has affected this
existing message.
