- Foreword
• Using a machine on a slope :
Do not drive the machine on slopes with gradients exceeding the authorised transversal and lateral limits
for the machine.
WIND : The aerial work platform can operate up to a maximum wind speed as indicated in the
specifications. To identify the local wind speed, use the Beaufort scale below, use a wind
gauge or an anemometer.

HE EAUFORT SCALE OF WIND FORCE IS ACCEPTED INTERNATIONALLY AND IS USED WHEN
Beaufort scale
Smoke rises vertically.
Smoke indicates the wind direction.
Wind felt on the face. Leaves rustle.
Weather vanes turn.
Leaves and small twigs in constant
motion. Flags move slightly.
Raised dust and loose papers. Small
branches are moved.
Small trees in leaf to sway. Crested
wavelets form on inland waterways.
Large branches in motion. Power
lines and chimneys 'sing'. Umbrellas
used with difficulty.
Whole trees in motion. Inconvenience
felt when walking against wind.
Some branches break. Generally we
cannot walk against the wind.
The wind causes slight damage to
buildings. Tiles and chimney stacks
are blown off.
