3)
PRE-BURNING ENTIRE PART
When cutting thick materials which require assist gas pressures in excess of 6.0 kg/cm
be ballooning at any point during cutting. For these materials it is possible to pre-burn the entire
part before cutting, in order to create a channel through which the assist gas can escape without
causing the coating to separate. This method requires two passes for each part. One two burn the
coating and the second to cut the material. The main program will call up the pre-burn subprogram
first to burn the coating and then will call up the cutting subprogram and repeat the geometry.
Example:
NOTE: THE "Z" AXIS HEIGHT, PRE-BURN CONDITIONS AND ASSIST GAS PRESSURE MAY
HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED FOR THE PARTICULAR COATING BEING CUT.
4)
NON-CONTACT SENSOR
The non-contact sensor option allows profiling without contacting the material. The non-contact
sensor uses capacitance to detect the material and does not "see" the coating. Therefore, if the
coating balloons, the nozzle does not deviate from its set gap.
The non-contact sensor can not be used on non-metallic materials.
Any difficulty encountered when cutting plastic or paper coated metals may be due to the type of coating or adhesive
that is used. There are several types of coatings which may have varying results when cutting with high pressure.
Contact your material supplier to see what options are available for your application.
