SOLAR POWER
Solar panels on the bimini are wired to recharge the main house batteries. No action is
necessary to operate. These panels are regulated via solar regulators located behind the
saloon seating backrest.
ALTERNATORS
The main engines are equipped with 120A alternators. The charging is controlled automatically
so no further switching is required. Each engine start battery has an isolation switch and should
one battery fail and second battery switch in the port engine room can be turned on to connect
both start battery circuits together.
5.10 ELECTRICAL – 220V AC
There are a number of 220V AC appliances on your boat. To operate these the inverter must be
turned on to run from batteries alone. The primary sources to recharge the battery are to
either use the generator or shore power. This will operate one or two large battery chargers for
the house batteries. As previously mentioned, other ways to recharge the batteries are the
main engine alternators and solar panels.
When running 220V equipment it is advised that you monitor the battery level and amp draw.
You may need to reduce the 220V draw by switching equipment off if you are not re supplying
the batteries with enough charge.
