5.7 AIRCONDITINOING

There are three air-conditioning units on your boat. The control unit at the nav desk provides
air to the salon and the fwd Cabin. The fwd cabin vent can be closed off when not in use. The
Port aft and STBD aft are independently controlled via control panels mounted on the bulkhead
in each cabin. The three compressor units all run off one water pump mounted in the bilge of
the port hull.
Before starting the aircon units on your 1600 it is important to follow the correct start and pre
start procedure.
PRE START PROCEDURE
1. Check the ball valves are opened to the airconditioning pump water pickup.
2. Ensure an adequate electrical supply is available, connected and running (shore or
generator).
START PROCEDURE
1. Switch on the sea water pump breaker.
2. Switch on the aircond breaker required (port, stbd, saloon).
a. Do not switch on all breakers at the same time, allow 10-20 seconds to pass
before turning on the next breaker.
3. Press the power button on the desired aircon control panel and adjust temperature or
fan as required.

5.8 BILGE

Bilges are drained by automatic bilge pumps with switches at the nav table. There is one for
each hull and each engine compartment. There are also manual bilge pumps on the rear beam
for each hull. Access is as per provided diagram. Regularly check your bilges for fluids they
