halyard whilst the other two ends are each fitted to a pad eye on the bows. The pad eye is
located to the aft of the bow seats on each hull. Once the stay has been attached to all 3 points
the halyard should be raised and tension applied using the winch. Apply firm tension to the
stay but do not over tension to the point it distorts the mast bend. It simply must be firm to
prevent the mast from pumping.
If heavy weather is expected during a trip it is advised the stay remain fitted and raised but
simply clipped back to the mid mooring cleats or aft pad eyes. When needed they can then
easily be carried forward and tension applied.
