M.2 Slot
The motherboard has two M.2 slots (JMD1, JMD2). M.2 was formerly known as Next
Generation Form Factor (NGFF) and serves to replace mini PCIe. M.2 allows for a variety of
card sizes, increased functionality, and spatial efficiency. These M.2 slots support PCIe 3.0
x4/SATA 3.0 (32 Gb/s) SSD cards in the 2280 and 22110 form factors.
SAS Ports
The X12STD-F has two Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) ports. Set J1 to pins 1-2 to use these
ports as onboard SATA or pins 2-3 as AOC SAS.
