foot from the accelerator pedal after overtaking,
cruise control will resume speed regulation back
to the stored speed.
You can store any speed above 20 km/h up to the
maximum design speed or up to the set winter
tyre limit.
Observe the notes on driving systems and your
responsibility; you may otherwise fail to recognise
dangers (
page 212).

play.

stored speed to the end of the scale, or to the
set winter tyre limit, light up in the speedome-
ter.
System limits
Cruise control may be unable to maintain the
stored speed on uphill gradients. The stored
speed is resumed when the gradient evens out.
Change into a lower gear in good time on long and
steep downhill gradients. Take particular note of
this when driving a laden vehicle. By doing so, you
will make use of the engine's braking effect. This
relieves the load on the brake system and pre-
vents the brakes from overheating and wearing
too quickly.
Do not use cruise control in the following situa-
tions:
in traffic situations which require frequent
R
changes of speed, e.g. in heavy traffic, on
winding roads
on slippery roads. Accelerating can cause the
R
drive wheels to lose traction and the vehicle
could then skid.
when visibility is poor
R
▌Function of the limiter
The limiter restricts the speed of the vehicle. To
reduce the speed to the set speed, the limiter
applies the brakes automatically.
You can limit the speed as follows:
Variable: for speed restrictions, e.g. in built-up
R
areas.
Permanent: for long-term speed restrictions,
R
e.g. when driving in winter tyre mode.
The variable limiter is operated using the corre-
sponding steering wheel buttons. You can store
any road speed from 20 km/h to 250 km/h or up
to the set winter tyre limit. You can also perform
settings while the vehicle is stationary if the vehi-
cle has been started.
Observe the notes on driving systems and your
responsibility; you may otherwise fail to recognise
dangers (
page 212).
