STEP 2
Adjusting the Pressure and Ramp Time
a. The pressure control and the ramp time control
components are located under the unit cap. Behind
the three slots located on the upper left corner of the
rear panel is a vertical bar that secures the cap in
place. Using a slotted screwdriver, (or other tool),
press firmly on the bar while lifting up on the rear of
the cap.
b. Occlude the circuit outlet at either the mask or at the
O
Enrichment Attachment. Observe the delivery

pressure on the manometer.
c. Using a slotted screwdriver, or fingers, set the prescribed pressure setting.
To increase the pressure, slowly turn the pressure control knob clockwise.
To decrease the pressure, slowly turn the pressure control knob counterclockwise.
One full turn will adjust the unit from the lowest to the highest pressure.
d. Check that the pressure is set correctly by opening the circuit
outlet and occluding again. Readjust the pressure setting if
necessary.
e. Set the maximum ramp time control to the patient's prescribed
time. The corresponding time for each setting is shown on the
label. If no ramp is prescribed, set the control to "0".
Example: If the control is set to 4, the maximum ramp time is 20
minutes.
f. Snap the unit cap into place:
• Position the unit cap above the rectangular tower.
• Insert the tab on the front inside of the cap into the slot in the
front side of the tower.
• Press down on the rear of the cap to secure in place.
