Inspect the Engine Air Filter

Note: Genie specifications require that this
procedure be performed every 40 hours or weekly,
whichever comes first.
Maintaining the engine air filter in good condition is
essential to good engine performance and service
life. Failure to perform this procedure can lead to
poor engine performance and component damage.
1 Kubota D905 models: Pull up on the engine
pivot plate lock pin located under the pump.
Swing the engine pivot plate out and away from
the machine for access.
2 Kubota D-905 models: Remove the wingnut
securing the end cap to the air cleaner canister.
Remove the end cap.
All other models: Disconnect the retaining
clamps securing the end cap to the air cleaner
canister. Remove the end cap.
3 Remove the air filter element.
4 Clean the inside of the air filter canister and the
canister gasket with a damp cloth.
5 Inspect for and remove any blockage or debris
from the intake air passages.
6 Inspect the air filter element. If needed, blow
from the inside out using low pressure dry
compressed air, or carefully tap out dust.

7 Securely install the filter element into the
canister.
8 Install the gasket and baffle (if equipped), and
end cap onto the air cleaner canister.
Note: Be sure the dust discharge valve is facing
down when installed.
9 Secure the end cap to the air cleaner cannister
with the retaining clamps.
10 Kubota D905 models: Swing the engine pivot
plate back to its original position and make sure
the engine pivot plate lock pin locks into place.
