1. Insert the nozzle into the periodontal pocket. The penetration depth depends on the pocket depth. Do
not force the nozzle into the pocket because this could hurt soft tissues.
2. When the nozzle is inserted in the pocket, press the pedal of your device for 5 seconds.
3. Place the nozzle inside the pocket for 5 seconds maximum per site. Repeated insertion of the nozzle in
the same site is not recommended. Carry on the treatment with short tiny vertical motions of the nozzle.
EMS powder/air mixture confined by a water jet is sprayed into the periodontal pocket. Due to the
mechanical action of the air, powder and water spray, the subgingival biofilm is eliminated from the root
surface.
