The hole in the diaphragm housing of UMA 200, UMA-S 200, UMA 250 and UMA-S 250 submersible motors is
off centre.
7 Servicing/Maintenance

To check the fill level measure the distance A between the diaphragm housing and
the diaphragm position.
ü The test pin has been ordered and is on hand.
1. Place the pump set or motor down in a horizontal position. Secure it against
rolling off.
2. Insert the test pin (1) carefully through the hole (3) in the diaphragm housing
until resistance can be felt.
3. Measure the distance between the diaphragm and the edge of the hole in the
diaphragm housing.
4. Compare the result with the required distance A given in the table.
ð If the measured value is not identical with the required value, top up
(ð Section 7.4.2.2, Page 69) or drain some of the motor fill. Then check the
fill level again.
7.4.2.2 Topping up the motor fill of UMA 150, UMA-S 150, UMA 200, UMA-S 200,
UMA 250, UMA-S 250 submersible motors
The motor fill of the UMA 150, UMA-S 150, UMA 200, UMA-S 200, UMA 250 and
UMA-S 250 submersible motor is pressurised, which means that the pressure inside
the motor is slightly above atmospheric pressure.
The motors are fitted with valves (inlet valve and outlet valve) for controlling the
pressure. They vary as follows:
