Table 5. Supported ACPI states for 12V product options
Description
Power off
Carrier board with no standby support
Standby
Full power
1
G0/S0 — Fully operational; working
2
G1/S3 — Standby (Suspend to RAM). Main memory is still powered. This state allows the
resumption of work exactly where it was left at the start of standby.
3
G1/S4 — Non-volatile sleep (Suspend to disk). System context is saved to disk and power
removed from all circuits except those required to resume.
4
G2/S5 — Soft off. All devices are un-powered. Memory contents and context are lost.
5
G3 — Mechanical off. System is un-powered with no standby rails. No wake-up is possible.
CE915GM modules support these wake-up events from S3, S4, and S5 sleep states:
• Power button
• RTC alarm. The ACPI wake-up time is configured in the BIOS setup utility,
Configuration, Power Control Configuration menu.
• Onboard LAN. To wake on LAN, make sure that the embedded Ethernet is enabled in
the BIOS setup utility and the Ethernet connection is available.
Note: To enable ACPI wake-up from these sleep states, press F2 to enter the BIOS setup
utility during system boot, and then set PME Wake from S5 to Enabled on the
Configuration > Power Control Configuration menu.
CE915GM modules provide a 1x4-pin BIOS operation mode header to force a particular
mode of BIOS operation. For header location, see
with an asterisk (*).
• BIOS recovery mode: Pins 2 and 3 jumpered. The system does not boot — it waits until
a valid BIOS recovery diskette is detected, then copies the new BIOS into ROM. After
this completes, remove the jumper and then reboot the system.
• Clear CMOS mode: Pins 3 and 4 jumpered. In this mode, the CMOS RAM contents are
ignored and the factory defaults are used to configure the system.
