THERMAL SOLUTIONS
RadiSys offers a series of RoHS-compliant thermal solutions for CE915GM modules,
including one heatsink assemblies, two passive heatsinks, and a heat spreader. For
instructions on how to install a thermal solution, refer to the Quick Start Guide. If you are
designing your custom carrier board and thermal solutions, request a copy of the Carrier
Board Design Guidelines from RadiSys for further information.
As long as thermal requirements are met, RadiSys heatsinks (CE-AHS, CE-PHS, CE-PHS17)
or custom thermal solutions designed for the previously released models (CE760, CE738,
CE373, and CE370) can be used on the CE915GMA and CE915GMB series modules.
However, it is recommended that you use the heatsinks designed for the CE915GM
models, especially when using the CE760A.
The CE-AHSA is an active heatsink assembly (fan on heatsink) designed for CE915GM
modules in a 2U chassis. This active heatsink requires an extra power supply rated at +5V
to +13.8V (+12V recommended). Make sure that the power connector is FlexATX
compliant.
