6. Start up the Hyper Terminal of Windows 95/98 on the personal computer.
(Programs of Windows → Accessories → Hyper Terminal → Hypertrm.exe)
Name the Hyper Terminal "1394", and select an icon.
Select the connection method. (Connecting using: Direct to COM*)
Perform settings of the Port. (Bits per second: 9600, Data bits: 8, Parity: None, Stop bits: 1,
Flow control: None)
File → Properties → Settings → ASCII Setup → put a mark on the "Append line feeds to incoming line ends"
of ASCII Receiving.
7. Turn "ON" the VTR power.
8. The initial screen of Debug Monitor appears on the Hyper Terminal screen.

9. Press the Enter key, and confirm that "MON >>" appears.
10. Input the UID command "MON >>uid ********", which is the 8 digits of the second half of the UID. (The 8 digits
of the first half are always 00804582.)
11. Confirm that "&OK" and "MON >>" appear.
12. Close the software "Hyper Terminal". Turn "OFF" the power of the VTR.
13. Set the DIP switch SW3301-1 to "OFF"
