(USB memory device, hard disk, etc.)
connected to the USB A connector cannot

USB function is normal.
Updating is not possible, because the program in
the microcomputer is abnormal, the flash ROM,
ERP UCOM or PANELM UCOM is in failure, or
the communication line is in failure.
Check the LCD display during the update.
The updating status of the flash ROM (IC1102) in
the MAIN Assy is displayed on the first line (MAIN).
The updating status of the ERP UCOM (IC4502)
and PANELM UCOM (IC4505) in the UCOM Assy
is displayed on the second line (ERP/SUB).
The updating status of the flash ROM (IC2302) in
the MAIN Assy is displayed on the third line (MIXER).
The updating status of the flash ROM
(IC3003/IC3203) in the JLCD1/JLCD2 Assy is
displayed on the fourth and the fifth lines
(JOGL/JOGR).
If the progress of a status bar is stopped in
mid-course, rewriting of the corresponding ROM
or microcomputer failed.

Check the keys (switches) in the DCK1 Assy,
using the diagnosis in Test mode or referring
to "No operation with keys (switches)."

If the keys (switches) function normally, the
ERP UCOM (IC4502) may be in failure. Replace it.
No
Replace the IC4502 (ERP UCOM).
MAIN UCOM (IC701) cannot recognize the
updating status. Check connection between
the MAIN Assy and UCOM Assy.
Check also the line connected to Pin 36 of
CN105 (ERP_WRITE) on the MAIN Assy.
If no problem, MAIN UCOM (IC701) may be
defective. Replace the MAIN Assy.
Check the connection of the periphery of the
Flash ROM
corresponding flash ROM. If no problem, replace
the MAIN Assy.
Check the connection between MAIN Assy and
UCOM Assy. If no problems are found in
peripheral circuits, connectors, or cables,
replace ERP UCOM (IC4502) and PANELM
UCOM (IC4505).
