INFORMATION
Before installing the Protector foot cuff on the 1B1* Meridium prosthetic foot, read the instruc­
tions for use of the prosthetic foot and the corresponding footshell.
6.3.2 Protective Cover Installation
1) Remove the crepe adhesive tape from the protector after final shortening.
2) Open or remove the closures.
3) Spread open the protector.
4) Thread the protector into the foot cuff from anterior (see fig. 13).
5) Apply the protector to the knee.
INFORMATION: The retainers of the protector have to engage on the frame element.
6) Fasten the upper closure (see fig. 14) and lengthwise closure (see fig. 7) on the protector.
NOTICE
Loss of stability due to inadequately installed retainers
No hold of the protector on the knee joint.
Ensure that all retainers and closures are properly engaged and/or fastened.
6.4 Installing and removing the shield insert
► Slide the shield insert into the recess of the applied protective cover from the front and let it
engage (see fig. 15).
NOTICE
Loss of stability due to inadequately installed protective cover main unit
No hold of the shield insert on the protective cover.
Ensure that the protective cover has been installed properly and that all closures are
fastened.
► By opening the closures and removing the protector from the knee joint, the shield insert
loses its hold and can be removed.
6.5 Functional Test
After assembly, the following points have to be checked:
Does the foot cuff overlap the protective cover by approx. 2 cm?
Is the distance between the socket and protective cover at least 5 mm?
Is the function of the rotation adapter impaired?
Material may be removed from the protective cover to improve the functionality.
INFORMATION: If material is removed, the stability/flexibility of the protective cover
on the knee joint may be impaired.
1) Install the cover cap on the footshell of the
prosthetic foot.
2) Apply adhesive to the cover cap in four
places (adhesive areas about 15 mm long).
3) Glue the Protective Cover connecting plate
to the cover cap.
4) Attach the clips of the Protector foot cuff to
the Protective Cover connecting plate.
The cover cap and Protective Cover connect­
ing plate are included in the scope of delivery
for the 1B1* Meridium prosthetic foot.
