5.2 Accessories
The following components are not included in the scope of delivery and must be ordered separ­
ately:

6 Preparing the product for use
INFORMATION
The protective cover has to be removed during static alignment optimisation in the alignment
apparatus.
6.1 Required tools
718H5 Deburring knife
743B2 Tape measure
627B6=15 Crepe adhesive tape
636K13 adhesive (Loctite 241)
Vibrating/band saw
710D20 Torque wrench
6.2 Shortening protective cover
6.2.1 Shortening the Protective Cover – Preliminary Shortening
1) Remove the prosthesis from the residual limb.
2) Remove the shoe from the prosthetic foot.
3) Loosen the foot connection cap of the prosthetic foot.
4) Check whether the closures on the Protective Cover are properly fastened and the Protective
Cover is not twisted.
5) Lay the Protective Cover next to the prosthesis.
INFORMATION: Make sure that the knee plateaus of the knee joint and Protective
Cover are at the same level (see Fig. 1).
6) Mark the Protective Cover distally at the level of the foot contact surface (see Fig. 2).
INFORMATION: For tall patients, shortening the Protective Cover may not be required.
7) Make another mark 1 cm above the existing mark.
8) Apply crepe adhesive tape proximally all around at this mark.
9) Use a vibrating or band saw to shorten the Protective Cover along the bottom edge of the
crepe adhesive tape.
6.2.2 Shortening the Protective Cover – Final Shortening
1) Remove the crepe adhesive tape and lengthwise closure from the Protective Cover after pre­
liminary shortening.
2) Open the upper closure on the Protective Cover.
3) Spread open the Protective Cover and apply it to the knee joint (see fig. 4).
INFORMATION: The two retainers of the Protective Cover (at the side in the upper
closure area) have to engage on the frame element of the knee joint (see fig. 5).
4) Fasten the upper closure on the Protective Cover.
→ Compress the Protective Cover slightly with both hands.
