D Tone squelch operation
Tone squelch operation is a method of communica-
tions using selective calling. Only received signals
having a matching tone will open the squelch. Before
communicating using tone squelch, all members of
your party must agree on the tone squelch frequency.
q Push [MODE] one or more times to select FM
mode.
w Select M M - - 3 3 .
• Push and hold [MENU/GRP] for 1 sec. once or twice
to select the menu group M M .
• Push [MENU/GRP] momentarily one or more times to
select the menu M M - - 3 3 .
e Push [F-3 T T O O N N ] momentarily several times to turn
the tone squelch function ON.

r Push and hold [F-3 T T O O N N ] for 1 sec. to enter the FM
tone set mode.
• The selected tone frequency for TSQL appears.
• Other tone functions can be set by pushing [F-1 T T O O N N ].
t Rotate [DIAL] to set the desired subaudible tone
frequency.
• See table at right for available tone frequencies.
• Push and hold [F-3 D D E E F F ] for 1 sec. to select the de-
fault frequency.
• Push [Z Z (
)] to exit the FM tone set mode.
